Blog # 4 - Chapter 5 - Due 2/6
- It has been said that a person's eyes are windows into the soul. How does Elie describe the eyes of Akiba Drumer? Why does Drumer lose his will to live? How about Elie? Is there a difference between the two? Why or why not?
Elite describes Akaiba's eyes as "glazed" as they tell everyone how weak he has become. Drummer looses his will to live because he has lost his faith in God. This is also scene in Elie because he is loosing his faith in God as well. There is similar aspects between Drumer and Elie but they are different because Drumer has given up all faith and Elie still has some left.
- Why would the Germans go to all the trouble of moving the prisoners away from the front lines into the heart of Germany? (look for two reasons)
The first reason they would move all of the prisoners is because Hitler and the Germany army want to take out all Jewish people. The second reason is they wanted to hide all of the evidence of what they have been doing.
